NFTs and Community

featuring Zain Gaziani

NFT Creator

Zain Gaziani, NFT Creator, returns to talk with our president, Steve Gilman, about his time with VeeFriends and NFTs.

Blockchain, crypto, tokens, NFT. By now you’ve probably at least heard of some of these terms. Whether you’re involved in the digital space or not, NFTs have exploded in popularity this past year. For Zain Gaziani, NFTs have introduced him to a community of artists that he values more than the tokens themselves.

From images and videos to audio files and even event tickets, more and more people like Zain are investing in and creating NFTs and joining these digital creative spaces. But what people may not realize is that purchasing and creating NFTs can also give you access to a community of like-minded people, allowing you to meet others and build connections in a whole different way.

In this episode, we hear from Zain about his journey from working for Gary Vaynerchuck on the VeeFriends launch and moderating their NFT Discord to becoming an NFT creator himself. We help break down some misconceptions of NFTs and hear more about the community aspect that makes up the digital space.

About the Guest

Zain Gaziani

NFT Creator

Zain’s interest in NFTs started during his time working under Team GaryVee as Head of Community & Social Media for VeeFriends. After spending time moderating their Discord and getting to know the community, he made a transition to NFT creator himself. Zain has ‘always wanted to draw and create and tell stories through my artwork’ and sold his first NFT in October 2021.

Quickfire Q&A

Are there any misconceptions about the NFT space that you’ve run into a lot?

The biggest one I get is money laundering. If you think about what it means to be in the blockchain, it’s all trackable, it’s all transparent. If I was someone that wanted to sneak around and launder money, I feel like this would be the worst place to do it because everything’s trackable.

Do you have any advice for other artists out there who may be overwhelmed by the NFT space?

Look at other people who are doing it well. See what they’re posting, turn on notifications for them so that way if they join things like programming and events you can listen to them talk. And if you’re really feeling courageous, jump on that stage and ask them questions.

What advice would you give yourself if you just went back six months?

Lean into what you want to do. Really think about the worst-case scenario and the best-case scenario. That’s what I always do. And I think if the best-case scenario is life-changing, you kind of owe it to yourself to do it.
