CHALLENGE

Harrisonburg’s Economic Development Department needed better tools to market Harrisonburg to businesses outside the region. Gravity Group’s challenge would lie in developing a message that would resonate with business owners outside of the area about the benefits of Harrisonburg.

SOLUTION

Determining the key elements that make Harrisonburg an attractive option to those outside the area was an important part of this process. Gravity Group developed two cornerstone pieces – a brochure with multiple fold-outs, and a website with full search and GIS capabilities - using a core theme of “balance of work and life”.   The brochure and website utilized copy and imagery (from multiple photo shoots featuring local businesses, restaurants, and attractions) to illustrate the excellent professional and quality-of-life benefits in Harrisonburg. The projects involved extensive collaboration with Gravity creative partners including multiple photographers, designers, and web specialists.

RESULTS

The City reported great success using the brochure in communicating with prospects, and enjoyed high traffic on their new website, especially with the new GIS component.
